Pebble Beach, CA Seniors Get Discounts At Federally Owned Parks
by Richard Kuehn on 07/02/12
There has been so much negative press lately about State budget cuts and the many parks which will likely close as a result, so I was happy to read that at the national level, the U.S. Forest Service and the National Park Service are offering seniors a lifetime pass to all national parks, forests and national monuments for just $10. You only have to be 62 to qualify, although unfortunately they don't have an online or mail program. Therefore, to get one you will have to go in person and show your ID to get this deal. Still, it's a great deal. It also give you an Adventure Pass which gets you free parking on land owned by the National Forest Service. At Family inHome Caregiving, we emphasize that a healthy diet, exercise and social interaction are key to keeping up good health. I am glad that state government officials have introduced this program. Although it doesn't offset they myriad senior services programs which have been cut, it's something!
