    Researchers announced surprising results from a study of severe-stroke patients at the European Stroke Organization’s annual conference.  They found that pulling a blood clot from major arteries to the brain can have powerful positive effects even 24 hours after the stroke, contrary to popular opinion that stroke victims must be treated right away.  “This is the largest treatment effect we have seen” in stroke patients, said Tudor G.     Fiduciary Rule Being Implemented On June 9
    The so-called fiduciary rule which was put on hold by the Trump Administration who directed the Labor Department to reevaluate the regulation which was meant to protect retirement savings from conflicted investment advice will now go into effect on June 9.  Labor Department Secretary Alexander Acosta wrote an opinion piece for the Wall Street Journal and said that “respect for the rule of law” precludes a further delay in the rule, which was originally supposed to go into effect on April 10.

    There are a flurry of financial elder abuse scams on the Peninsula, but one which is still around and may not have heard of involves getting a phone call from a company called “Express Couriers” (although they may have changed their name) which claim to have a package to deliver that requires a signature.  About an hour later, a uniformed delivery man turned up with a basket of flowers and a bottle of wine.  He says that because the gift contains alcohol, there is a “delivery/verification
